    NetworkProvider service

I got a software (and the licence key), SRS Audio, that greatly improves the sound of a laptop.

But I can't install it. The soft try to install SRS HD AudioLab Service, but it fails in trying that, because SRS HD AudioLab Service depends on an other service, NetworkProvider, that is non present on my system.

What is this NetworkProvider service, and how to get/install it ? I googled about that without success.

I'm merely guessing here - could it be the application needs an active Internet connection? It would help with a screenshot of the error message.

NetworkProvider is a service group. In my system it is formed by the following services: Base Filtering Engine, Computer Browser, Workstation, Terminal Services, Web Client.

Are any of those turned off in your system? If so, you might want to try re-enabling them.

I'm using DFX Audio Enhancer for years and it works great, you may try.

Btw: You do have installed {.NET Framework 3.5 SP1}. Check for windows update (.net) and give it a go.

edit: Open event log and see if you get some more info about the error.

The name DFX brings back good memories!

Event log is a good idea.

It was a bit difficult to find all those services on my system, in an other language. But ultimately, one of the service you mentionned was depending of a service missing on my system.

As my system had many problems these last weeks, I decided to do a reinstall. Then problem solved: I was able to install SRS Audio Lab and lauch it. But this time, it doesn't enhance the sound produced by my PC.

So, I gave DFX a try. The free version was not as good than SRS Audio, but improves the sound in a very satisfactory way. I think that the paid version is as good as SRS Audio.

If you use Winamp (or a player compatible with its plugins), there really is no choice for audio enhancement.
