Demonoid is working perfectly fine. If you're from Germany, Mexico or Ukraine, you may find yourself unable to access - for some reason, that's intentional. Use a proxy.

That's because... no, wait, I really don't know. Demonoid is the only site I know that bans Germany, even. I'd say it's some sort of paranoid security measure?
As for proxies, announcing to the tracker works fine without one, so just use any from Proxy.org to log in and download .torrent files.
