afaik, hibernate is technically the same as not turning your pc off, even though it's off. It should put up everything like it was when you booted, and I'm guessing uptime is measured by keeping the start date.Originally Posted by anon

But since the PC was turned off he was still saving CPU cycles and a rapid HDD wear, I think. So in the end it would be still better then just leaving the PC turned on. The only downside I can see is that the uptime counter won't be set to 0 again, right?

for disks it's better to keep running than turning on and off often
