article:
what did they expect, that the dragon would just pack his bags and move on without a fight? seems it was quite peaceful there (the dragon had enough adventures for a while) before these treasure seekers started stirring things up
no one was defenseless in those dangerous times and so close to smaug, besides they knew the danger and still decided to make this town their home... we'll see if they get awarded some dwarven gold for the damages & taking the heat (literally)
umm, isn't this treasure already collected on one huge pile, whereas the mountain nicely serves as a vault? what else is there to hoard?
don't remember this being in any of the (related) books
wasn't bilbo supposed to live a looong time after this adventure, ie. sauron was nowhere near being able to amass an army at the time (of these events)
also, how do you make stealth attacks with legions of orcs? by providing comic relief? (imagine thousands of sneaking orcs shushing each other)
not races, kingdoms
not destroyed, attacked
not unite, conveniently make an alliance (just in time)
how does a marginal battle affect the future of middle-earth?
to repeat that which jackson already did 3 times? have you no mercy?
what if he deserved it?
also, any criticism will most likely be aimed at jackson & his lotr-xploitation, the director who was
there (lotr)
and shamelessly went
back again (hobbit aka lotr redux wannabe) for the treasure (paycheck) & glory (guess imdb scores over 8.0 confirm this)
