About remove URL idea from previous suggestion by Blazedneg. If user can't remove the announce URL while torrent running, then user never want to remove it... as I understand, without a tracker announce URL, the torrent just can't start correctly and has nothing to do with neither upload nor download reports. Run a torrent without tracker url in mR make it pointless, because it doesn't register with tracker to report anything from beginning and not have any purpose at all. We're in simulation stuffs (not real data downloading), and without sending fake info, there're nothing else...

Because stop, remove URL, and start doesn't make sence... start without URL is waste of time.

I would say the current behavior is there to protect those who don't know as much as you do from themselves

Yeah, I didn't realize you need to stop the torrent for anything, thus announcing. About the "proxy method", it's similar to removing the announce url, I thought of it because I've seen a proxy option in mR settings.

Your situation was kinda tricky, glad they didn't catch you. You couldn't do much about it I think, if the proxy method works, which I'm not sure since I don't know if mR setting for proxys works in real time or what, you could have prevented mR from announcing and just stop it after that. This way, mR wouldn't report anything (UL or DL) and since you stop the torrent you wouldn't show up in the peer list anymore after a while. I think it would look like if you suffered a power outage or your PC crashed, something like that.

Anyway I don't know much about mR or torrents in general so let's hope someone more wise comes and give us a little light :).


Edit: you posted while I was writing this stuff, forget about it Anon to the rescue as always!

"Blocking" the tracker's hostname via the hosts file, then flushing your operating system's DNS cache is a possible way, if mRatio doesn't have a cache of its own.

By the way, what if you just unplug the ethernet cable? Then you stop the torrent you never wanted to be running in the first place.

That's right, it doesn't make sense if you are running the torrent in mR. But it does if you are running the torrent in the real client, because that's just what ghostleeching is. Start without announce url is pointless since you need it to get peers.

i think that you need to update the MRATIO program that support emulation to client version 3.3 build 29420, i'm using emulation 3.1 of utorrent, not sure if it's ok or i'm getting ban in future.

Whaaaat? Most trackers support uT from 1.8.X to last version. Those that doesn't just won't let you download anything or won't help you if your stats don't report correctly. I've been using uT 2.0.X for a while just because I like it and it's faster imo. Although many people use latest version, you will see all kind of versions in the peer lists...dont worry.

That would work, although it'd also stop everything else that requires your Internet connection, obviously.

i have a problem. there is a "http 1.1 bad gateway 502 or 504" warning in mratio4.5
when i started torrent of TL, its green for 10-15second and not started. then it turns yellow.

what should i do?
i use same port in utorrent and mratio. but listening port in mratio is red.

when the torrent file is damaged
i bet if you try to add it to uTorrent you will also run into problems
to solve the problem just download the torrent file again
