Getting Invites
As of this writing, there is no information on how invites are distributed to normal users, and the interview channel is closed. You may only get invited via the unlimited offers on What.cd's Elite forum.
Description
Wherefore.me is a music tracker running on the Gazelle codebase. It's notorious for two reasons: it was created as a What.cd spin-off by users from that same site, and focuses mostly on
well-tagged and named FLAC albums, with a currently small MP3 selection. The staff openly express their love for What, and don't intend WF to be "competition".
The place is currently ratio-free - to quote their ratio rules page, "we are a ratio-free community. This means you will never be automatically disabled for having a low share ratio". Needless to say, long seeding periods are encouraged, while hit & running isn't tolerated, as it hurts the background idea of keeping a virtual music "library", i.e. retention.
Personally, the only reasons to join this tracker at the moment I see are either curiosity or being
very passionate about proper media tagging (or at least, what the Wherefore staff considers to be proper). Otherwise, it's not worth the hassle of looking for an invite. I think the uploaders on What.cd and Waffles do a good job when it comes to tags, so I don't think I'll be using WF too much, at least not yet. I'd comment on the site's minuscule amounts of users and torrents, but I'll pass, considering it's on its initial stages.
I can't say a thing about its class-restricted forums, since I joined very recently and haven't had the chance to reach higher user classes. I haven't tried cheating, either - I see no reason to do it, as the tracker is ratio-free and there aren't any upload amount requirements for promotions.
To finish this post, I'd like to thank the SB-I member that made getting an invite possible for me. Without his help, I'd probably have never reached the appropriate requirements.
If you want or have more information, feel free to post.
