Let's say I'm looking for an invite to tracker X, so I dive in another site's invite thread/area in hopes of finding one, and happen to spot a recent post along the lines of:
That obviously makes me PM him my address to get an invitation, and I complete the registration process shortly afterwards.Originally Posted by RandomUser
However, in this hypothetical case, I do have an account at Y, and I login to it after seeing it mentioned in RandomUser's post, either to avoid inactivity pruning or "just because" - only to find I have an invite. And I think "RandomUser's is looking for Y, and he invited me to X, so it'd be nice to do the same for him in return".
The question here is, that as the title reads, can that be considered trading? On one side it wasn't a "give me this and I'll give you that" exchange, and I'm free not to invite him to Y if I don't want to. But on the other, I probably would have never invited him to Y if he hadn't helped me with X.
So... your thoughts?
