No, I'm not on Mihai's tracker, and hellman, get ImgBurn and see what it has to say about your DVD. I got "insert disc on drive G:" too once, but ImgBurn said "ready (disc needs formatting)". After giving the disc what it wanted Windows would recognize it as a blank one.

hey anon...it says that when i don't insert disk no media present and when i insert it,it sayd logical unit is in process of becoming ready and after some time it says "no reference position found"

i have a new problem

my dvd writer is not reading some of the blank disks..

its not reading blank disk of moserbaer but it reads blank dvd of duplicate chinese cheap stuff

is something wrong with my windows or dvd writer??

thats because:
1) laptop slimline drives are of very shitty quality that can sometimes report good media as bad ones or will not "like" some types, not to mention they are a LOT slower.

2)Moserbaer India's dvds are "ok" quality, sometimes i get coasters with them.

the best solution is getting an external burner if you don't want to waste money on higher quality discs or to try another brand.

example: i bought 25Dvd imation MBI(for 6.5euros), and a 50Dvd of another brand (for 5euros).
my laptop liked the imation ones and could burn the other brand perfectly
on the other hand my desktop burned imations @ max speed but it couldn't burn the other brand AT ALL.

theses errors are random and depend on the burner itself, go get a SONY(Optiarc) or a Samsung
