Seeding thousands of torrents

Yes, folks, I guess some people do this after all.

I came across this post at a music site (name withheld) of a member there that seeds about 20,000 torrents.
Yes. That's right.

Let me spell that out for you incase you didn't read that number right.

PS: I've had to edit some of the info in that screenshot b/c I want to obviously protect myself with respect to where I got that post from and also b/c I want to give some kind of anonimity to that particular user posting at that site.


EDIT: Its fine to seed torrents. It's even better to seed all the torrents that you downoad, .......

BUT it's not exactly terrific for yourelsf and leechers on torrents that you seed b/c if your upload rate isn't nil, at best it's

Well, seeding doesn't necessarily mean you're uploading. And you can add hundreds of torrents in uTorrent without a heavy resource hit. No idea about 20000 torrents, though - that's indeed insane

I'm seeding over 500 torrents in uTorrent right now over several different trackers right now and it's using around 15 MBs or memory. I thought that my actions are a bit insane, but most of these torrents are my uploads that I wanted to share with my communities and I don't want the torrents to get deleted when they still get downloads. My upstream maxes out at around 50 KBps, but usually only a few are active at a time. Anyway, it appears what I am doing is nothing compared to this guy. That is insane.

I once had a little over 1k torrents in uT and the only thing I noticed it took a little longer to start but that's all

20000 seems a bit too much. Even if he has decent bandwidth, I really wonder, how much is he going to help. Maybe he can screen and delete the old torrents. As for me, I have never had more than 10 torrents running.

Great number,No doubt it's very good to seed and try helping people to get what they need even some great number of them aren't uploading .
I seed as long as i can but i seed for longer time while using public trackers.

I had 2000 but on torrents that rewards seeding... If You seed torrents that are not much of a size and dont request ammount of data to be downloaded, it rocks! Btw can You cheat seeding so You can put that You are seeding something even if You dont? That way You can get points also... Or to have bigger snach list... And later just flash it!? or not?

Yes, you can, with the uTorrent NoReport-Seeder mod for example.
