What does Google want with a compression company other than Youtube?
I'm thinking that they could use this for expansion of googlevoice with the VP7 codec to compete more with skype. This is also a smart business move as skype could now be forced to pay licensing fees to the competition in order to continue using it. Also, the VP8 codec could be used in further expansion of googlevoice to include more advanced interfacing with mobile devices/phones.Originally Posted by IceBox
