Remember this? After stretching it for a year, it turns out yesterday was the last day they'd be able to send the stuff, because that government office is being moved to a new building.

I had to be there to oversee the whole ordeal. Surprisingly, I was able to get up in time, and a while after leaving home, the first pickup truck was already on its way.

The full booty ended up being 150 desktop computers, a hundred CRT monitors, ten multi-tray printers, four full-height photocopiers and six boxes full of random hardware. They needed three trips to bring it all. At the school, we got some cheap labor to help us in the form of volunteer students. They worked full-auto and even then, it was 3:30 PM by the time we were finished. It wouldn't have been doable without their assistance, and they're all going to be rewarded somehow.

An authority and a teacher from my shift were also on this. After everything was finally over, the three of us went to the latter's home to munch on some pizza and relax. We had totally earned it.

Last Friday night, I used my flashdrive to delete some files. It worked. Last Saturday night, I tried to boot from it to fix a hard disk, but it didn't show up in the BIOS menu. I blamed the (reportedly faulty) USB ports and carried on. Yesterday night I tried to use it at work, and found out it was completely dead. How can this even happen? And is there any possible way to recover the data? I remember some of the contents, but I'm not sure I have any backups... even a directory listing would go a long way... oh well.

Also, I want you all to know this forum once had a blog, a wiki, and a staff page which even included small biographies of us.

The answer is two of these had fallen off.

Those are TVS diodes. Their function is to protect electronics from voltage spikes. They're tiny, but if just one of them is missing, your device won't work well (or at all) anymore. The only way to get my data back would be getting another stick of the same make and model, desoldering its NAND chip and soldering mine. It can be done, but takes a lot of skill I don't have (How to add/change a memory chip), and this model (DataTraveler 102) isn't sold here anymore to boot.

To make things worse, last Saturday I ended up breaking a USB-to-SATA adapter by pushing the hard disk the wrong way and having it bang against the adapter, prying another of these diodes in the process. Due to their size, they're also tough to solder back... I asked my dad to help me and he actually pulled it off, but the thing was still broken afterwards. These aren't good days for my stuff, but at least the disk is fine.

No offence taken. India makes mostly stupid ass movies.. Some are excellent though (rare). Indian film industry has many arms like bollywood, kollywood, mollywood , sandalwood. The one u're taking about is that's don't even have a name or category

What happened to the Euro 2016 forum game? Yesterday I set up my guesses for the first few games and today I can't find the game anywhere.

Had it the first day of my fever, last month. I could barely eat, and food tasted like metal. The good news is you'll be better soon if you aren't already.

Four days now, and it still hurts way to much! I actually was gonna go on surgery, to cut it out, but the doctor said not yet, not necessary! Worst thing, I have to take antibiotics twice a day, and my stomach hurts afterwards, cuz i can barely get any food inside me! God I hope this goes away soon!

nope, it shows extremism in terms of body-building, self-respect would be to keep the body moderately fit without obsessing about muscles and physique - self-respect in the spiritual sense is yet something else (respecting what you truly are, beneath all those illusory titles, jobs, possessions and roles, and of course, the true origin thereof)

the rest of the quote is fine i guess, though Schwarzenegger, apart from several successful movies (movie roles), political role and body-building milestones, has no? other publicly known achievements, especially not in the spiritual department, which ought to be the primary societal reference point, in non-ignorant societies, that is

    unless there are complications

the wise thing to do is:
    1. do what you think is necessary (as expected, everybody does that)
    2. keep optimism levels high, regardless of the results (less known effect: if you can convince yourself that its going to be fine, you'll be fine - in other words, what you can believe in, turns out to be true - because believing in something means: being and living something) - in the Schwarzenegger example: he believes he needs to be pumping iron, thus ends up being and living this idea of a body-building extremist

in other words, you wanna get better? you must want it, you must believe in it, you must be and live it, get it?

in the spiritual sense, you wanna find your true self? you must want it, you must believe in it, you must be and live it, get it?

but, you can only achieve that what you are currently ready for - if disease is what you are currently ready for, that's what you'll achieve

you can be all you want to be, you'll end up being all you're (currently) ready to be

    simple, no?
