That last scene of Smaug confronting his intruder, Bilbo is simply superb. It portray's real fear and of the unknown of what's to happen next. What a great directorship Peter Jackson has.

didn't think it was anything special really, did notice a very lame cgi dragon though

judging by the mess he made of the first hobbit movie, it is (highly) unlikely to expect improvement in the sequels
as it turned out, the potentially ugly things (see link below) did make a sizable appearance, left a bad taste and to sum it up: the first hobbit was a poor man's lotr (fellowship mostly) or simply an uninspired money grab, thus:

they should've stopped at lord of the rings trilogy... i slept thru the entire hobbit 1 movie in theatre

it was like a torture to be honest... i literally beat the shit out of my friend who took me there to watch it.. well the burgers were tasty atleast

i was hoping for something new... Journey journey n journey... and my precious... nothing new in that... plus those ogres again... it was kinda boring,, i guess i watched 40 minutes of movie hardly... i didn't even knew when i slept

as said before, p. jackson overestimated his abilities to recapture that lotr inspiration he once had, instead he opted for the cheap solution of heavily reusing/copying/piling-up elements from the original trilogy, hoping to fool the audience (which, judging by the imdb score, was unfortunately successful, thus he will continue in the same vein and deliver a few more likely equally disappointingly inept sequels)
