    How to transfer data from macbook pro to external hdd

    i have a macbook pro running on osx 10.3.8 .. and i want to transfer 45 gb file to my external hdd
    is there a way to do it.. my hdd is 2 tb seagate ntfs
    Tutorials one should read\

    Macfuse has the ability to write to ntfs.
    It has not been updated on a regular basis, but it works well.
    However, with 64 bit OS you will probably have to use Fuse4X/OSXFUSE .
    If you want an easier solution, Macdrive or Paragon HFS+ for Windows might be the answer.
    I should mention that Macdrive doesn't officially support anything below OSX 10.3.9 unless you can find an older version of the program.

    If you had the other drive hooked up to a pc you could try this solution via YouTube.

    I don't really see the issue, i've transfered data to an hdd from a MAC and it was as simple as plug it in and drag n' drop

    mac can't write to ntfs..

    ur drive must be fat32 then.. plus u can't copy a file larger than 4 gb to fat32

    You could use a Linux distro, i.e. Ubuntu, to access those files from the mac drive and copy them to the external HDD.
