Yeah, they are kind of pioneering torture genre but they need to stop or at least give us as cinema-goers a break (actually I think hostel is the pioneer, right?)
That's happen when you can cash-in a lots of money with small budget so more sequel we got

Yes, hostel was one of the pioneers for world-wide audience. No matter what Saw or hostel they're better than any of classic american horror chemistry production ,you know a hot girl and some other college kids goes somewhere ...

Saw is WAY more popular than Hostel and much more better than the Hostel series . and why would they not cash-in if there are millions around the world who enjoy watching the Saw series ?

Problem is, if you've seen one, you've seen them all.

It's like this, the story behind the Saw franchise wasn't too bad (when I still cared, don't know know as the last one I saw it really seemed like there wouldn't be a next one. I think it was the third one) but the actual story was like 20% of the movie and the rest of the time was filled up with gore. Imho, a movie is more about the story than anything else, while in the Saw franchise, it's the other way around and for me, it's been dull for a long time.

Been there, done that, something new pretty please!

You shouldn't have this feeling to begin with. The moment you get this feeling, it means you should quit and start looking for something else instead.
Personally, having the feeling is one of the biggest bores I can have while watching movies.

Well, Off topic a bit, I like pirates of caribbean and saw because of character both jack and jigsaw. In pirates, you can the character development meanwhile in Saw, only his legacy is life on.

Anyway have u seen other country horror movie genre like japan for example and are you like Final destination series because both saw and final destination series is about the same imo. Both is about predestined fate and gore

True for your statement about cash-in, crystal. That's why I hate some of Hollywood studios for that.

i see it differently, its called seeing things for what they are, there's no need for illusions (not to be confused with ideals or hopes), its precisely those that distort the perception (or reduce/obscure the clarity) and those are being used for manipulative purposes such as creating hype (inflating/over-blowing) fans (exclusionary cult-like following), addiction, shaping society's worldview/values and so on, all of which can be observed within areas like marketing, PR, politics, entertainment and even education & science

there's no need to quit & start searching for something else, one can enjoy entertainment but still be critical/observant about it, actually if people were more critical and less susceptible, it would most certainly increase the quality of entertainment

so in short, you're saying only 1 of the 4 is good? That makes the complete series pretty horrible if you ask me

    imo:
saw - the whole series was quite good
hostel - didn't like any of them
the grudge - rather boring and irritating (the original ones included)
    final destination - entertaining, fun

So, it can be said that horror can be divided to two main path : gore path/western (movies like FD, Saw, etc) and haunt/eastern path (movies like Grudge) <- I know that was a common knowledge already. Case closed then
