- STC opened its doors in august 2008. ran by ex-Vortex staffers and based on gazelle from the start. they got support from what.cd staff and are hosted by the same provider as Vortex in Canada.
- Save the Coratee was ratio free right from the start and never changed that. you have to seed the stuff you get for 72h and you're done. of course you're encouraged to seed longer. much longer which brings us to the quite uniqü ranking system.
- the ranking system is based on credits, so called coratees, you gain not only by seeding but also by downloading and uploading torrents. have a look at the pics for details about that. the downside is that these credit points are changing over time so once you got a higher rank you can't keep it if you stop seeding.
- i'm afraid to say that my experiences with some of the higher ranked staff members were not very pleasing. their behavior was arrogant, intolerant and partially senseless. and if they feel you're right and they're not you just get a warning
- they're also sluggish technically. the bug area is far from handled well. bugs just get marked as solved for fun as it seems although nothing is solved at all. and even if bugs are causing more or less major disadvantages don't wait for a 'we're sorry' or some sort of compensation. the close relations to what.cd can be felt everywhere
- can't say much about the community but as far as i noticed a certain number of the members are quite full of themselves. one more thing in common with the dudes over at what.
- uploading is free for all but you have to obey the uploading rules of course.
- they have a small collection of so called exclusive content but don't trust that term. in many cases the stuff is not exclusive at all
Cheating
let's come to the important part finally
- STC is ratio free and they really mean it. actually the amount of upload dösn't matter at all. the only thing that counts is seeding time which you can't fake so nothing to do here.
