    Vuze: downloads.config.bad...??

so my power went out and then came back on a few minutes later. i turn my computer on and load up Vuze only to see a blank downloads panel. turns out the downloads.config got corrupted somehow.

is there a way to repair it or am i screwed? any tips to prevent this again aside from manually backing up the file?

    thx

And yes, shit like this happens. But not with bitcomet.I've been through 2 power failures today and all my torrents are there.

If I remember correctly, Azureus keeps an automatic backup of the file by default. Look for downloads.config.bak in %appdata%\Azureus, copy it out of there, close Azureus, delete both "downloads" files, copy the backup back to this folder, and remove the .bak extension out of its filename.

Restart Azureus and hope for the best.

i looked in the folder and saw, "downloads.config.bak.bad". oh well, that sucks. lol

routine manual backup is what i'll start doing.

Did you try to do it anyway, even if the file has a .bad extension? It may still work.

if during the crash the dl data wasnt damaged then try removing the torrents (not data) in VEM and reloading the same torrents again, rehash everything
