Even worse.... The last two years i always thought:
Hm, did anything change? Did you move forward?... Hm, well, nor really.... still roughly the same
"I like waffles."
"Pardon, you like what?"
Same here. I always do this. Each year i realize i how stupid n dumb i was last year.. does this haappen with any1 else too?
Same here guys! And then I always regret not doing things I could!
no point in regretting missed opportunities or feeling sorry for yourself or imagining how it could/would have been different if other choices were made or hoping for a chance to undo that which cannot be undone anyways, or 'living in the past' or daydreaming or ... - these are just useless time-wasters, depressants and/or energy drainers - the question is not 'what could have been done' but rather 'what can be done', 'what will be done', 'what am i going to do about this situation at hand', 'what am i doing right now' - only when you actually get up and make some intelligent actions/choices, things will start moving in a more favorable way (to you), so its necessary to be active in your pursuits and to choose them/deal with them wisely (passivity, laziness, going with the flow, blindly following examples/advice/customs/orders of others and the like are counterproductive)
also, what is really stupid & dumb: going through life doing the usual stuff everyone does, living through a lifetime without getting any closer to understanding/realizing what or who you really/truly are, what is the essence of your being, the purpose of (your) existence - that is the definition of a wasted life(-time) by a supposedly intelligent human being (or any other being for that matter), who chose to spend plenty of time dealing with the most banal/superficial of things, yet 'forgot' to deal with the most important ones
The VCR just flashed its lights and made a "tack" sound for a second for apparently no reason.
"I just remembered something that happened a long time ago."
well i guess then thats a good thing we're becoming wiser with time
@anon - holy shit u still use VCR? i think its d head....although i have one antique piece too but its just packed in a box.. someday i'll show this stone age shiznit to my kids

We changed our VCR like 10 years ago! Bought a nice Philips DVD player. Still works!

lol never thought i'd see a post liek this in a thread called "chat/spam thread" :)
i was actually thinking about issues like these the other day. i'm very self-aware. i'm sure most intelligent and educated adults are the same as well, but...how self-aware can you really be? it's hard to improve yourself when you don't recognize or shine light on your personality quirks/problems, or when you feel bad/awkward/worried for a few moments but then forget about it or get distracted by something else.
All clubs, all businesses, all organisations out there are basically teams where people work together to achieve a common goal, so they can draw on the collective skill of all those people. but when it comes to improving yourself? who knows you better than you? i mean, you can ask your family/friend for feedback (on personaltiy quirks/problems) but i don't do this because most of the time what they have to say isn't useful, since they're not me.
i guess you can only really reflect and improve your life by geting inspiration from other people or things. nobody can directly help you, and tell you that "you have to do X, Y Z and viola, now you're a better person"... you have to help yourself. so you need talk to people about their perspective, read widely, and maybe you'll discover something about yourself.
