I remember the last time I was at one of those. One of my coworkers found out the hard way that iPhones are not resistant to absinthe mixed with salt.
That's the other extreme. Either go and do your best, or turn them down explaining that it's nothing personal and you just aren't into this sort of thing. The latter isn't very nice, but having to put up with situations you don't like just to avoid being the odd one out is much worse for you in the long term.Guess I'll just start sucking it up. I need to fake smile more and start hiding that I have an opinion.

While yes, I was mostly scolded because starting this year I'm in a new position that's in a more visible spot and I'm "the face of our teams".
Networking has become important, my least favorite part :( That also means fake smiles and no harsh opinions sadly

Well, their fault for choosing you
Networking has become important, my least favorite part :( That also means fake smiles and no harsh opinions sadlyThen put on your best student council smile and fake it till you make it :weirdo:Wait, that contradicts what I said before. This is a vexing situation, indeed... but maybe you can see it as an opportunity for self-improvement. Like learning to swim by diving head on into the 7m deep part of the pool?
(I would make a bad motivational speaker, but that market is oversaturated anyway.)

Yeah that's basically what I'm gonna do. Fake it till you make it. It does become second nature if you fake it long enough. I wouldn't be in this position if I wasn't able to do so before

Since this upcoming event is basically an excuse to get shitfaced, may I suggest displaying culture and leadership skills by choosing the right beverage for the task.

Oooh, call me Claudia.
Now someone needs to post a picture of Astolfo and I'll end this day being 4% less heterosexual than when I started it.

As usual, it's more complicated than that.
"I just remembered something that happened a long time ago."
I used to feel the same way, but it's basically a reclaimed word now. It has transcended vulgarity.

I mean, yeah, maybe. But I still feel like it's kind of offensive. Trans people aren't trying to trap anyone. Just trying to live a happy life.
Anime is really stuck in that mindset that a trans woman is just a boy trying to confuse people and I don't really enjoy it being a joke.
But oh well :)
