I'm a big fan of the 1974 movie. This remake looks like a generic action flick, but who knows.

Trailer seems cool, let's keep an eye on it.Never knew about that 1974 version.
edit: Hah! Actually I know this movie from my childhood! I just realized that after searching it up on IMDb. There's even a second and third films with Charles Bronson. Great actor.

it's hip to be square
i don't think the original movie (or its sequels) were particularly interesting
bruce hasn't done anything relevant since, say 2005 or 2007
the director hasn't done anything relevant since 2002
the trailer looks generic
bruce looks weak, exhausted, like he's gonna break any moment
anyways, for good movies with the original vigilante, Charles Bronson, see:
Apache (1954)
Vera Cruz (1954)
The Magnificent Seven (1960)
The Great Escape (1963)
The Dirty Dozen (1967)
Once Upon a Time in the West (1968)
Chato's Land (1972)
Hard Times (1975)
Breakheart Pass (1975)
The White Buffalo (1977)
Telefon (1977)
The first movie is a good drama. After his wife and daughter are killed and raped, Paul Kersey reconsiders his stance on how to deal with crime and takes the law into his own hands. However, it turns out that having a gun and knowing how to use it didn't make him a Terminator. He gets stabbed by a muggers in the subway, then shot near the end of the movie. Police working around the clock trying to catch him didn't make things any better.
The second movie was more of the same. The third was like Die Hard III, they broke the formula by adding a sidekick for Paul and taking the action into broad daylight. For me, it was done well enough to make it watchable (but nowhere close to the original). The fourth and fifth were utterly forgettable, all I remember is that the latter ends with the antagonist being thrown in a pool of acid.
True, Paul didn't go around like Rambo shooting a rifle from each hand and throwing grenades like in the trailer, that was the attractive of the original film.the trailer looks generic
Heard a lot of good things about this one, I'll watch it when I get the chanceThe Great Escape (1963)
