As for "Ms Witherspoon's" review, believe me when I say that I am one person who doesn't resent Ms. Stoddard's lifestyle at all, frankly I could care less what she does or does not have. I just find her to be somewhat pretentious. Do you think she would schedule one of her "Happiness weekends" in Harlem and preach her message of "joy" and "love"? I doubt it very seriously because she would never associate with "those kinds of people".
Ms. Stoddard sprinkles "higher power" theology through her book but never does she once mention God. Who is her "higher power" anyway? Who does she thank for the many blessings she has, and believe me she is quick to tell you about them, i.e. - her two homes, her collection of paintings, trips abroad, etc.
I did borrow this from the library so I am thankful that I didn't spend my money on it. If you want alot of fluff and no real substance then this is the book for you. Ms. Stoddard is living in a glass bubble ( Waterford, no doubt! ) and is due for a serious reality check! Hopefully this will be the last book she publishes for a long, long time.
