Work, mostly. That little tiny bit of time I have left, I usually spend working on little projects.
Haven't seen Gapo in ages though. Wonder how she's doing~

Don't worry, it's probably got only 16 GB and the rest is filled with disappointment.

Only if it is formatted as FAT32. You could alter the MBR code to show XXXX number of GBs.

Some chips are hacked to report having more flash cells than they really do, and that survives both reformatting and repartitioning. All you can do is running RMPrepUSB's size test to find the real amount of cells, then create a partition that only covers those.

This trickery isn't new, I can personally attest they've been doing it since at least '07.

But, why? At the point you notice this, it will already be too late (you've already bought the item).

I think sticking to original brands is the right choice. Like kingstone , but any way a labtop with you is a good plan. The sales man will go nut but it's your benefits.

    Do what I do:

I have a 16GB stick from ADATA operating at USB 3.0 speeds. And whatever I copy on it, I also save a copy on my desktop.
Say it'll break, the damadges are neglijable as long as you store on it exactly one day's work.

    Whatever happens I'm always covered.

Of course, and that's why I'd avoid generic/brandless flash drives like the plague. The tip is for those who are stuck with one.

The stars have ascended to a higher plane of existence Rep should still be working, though

Hey guys! Anyone ever heard about "core parking"? I found this software that tells you if your cores are parked or not, and I'm not sure what exactly this means. If PC is in idle state it doesn't use all cores, right? But if I play games it uses all cores then or not?

Core parking "turns off" processor cores that aren't being used to save energy, but it can cause lags if a program suddenly needs to use that core again. The ability to control this isn't available directly in Windows' power settings, but can be unlocked by running some commands.

    Code:
    powercfg -attributes SUB_PROCESSOR 06cadf0e-64ed-448a-8927-ce7bf90eb35d -ATTRIB_HIDE
    powercfg -attributes SUB_PROCESSOR 12a0ab44-fe28-4fa9-b3bd-4b64f44960a6 -ATTRIB_HIDE
    powercfg -attributes SUB_PROCESSOR 40fbefc7-2e9d-4d25-a185-0cfd8574bac6 -ATTRIB_HIDE
    powercfg -attributes SUB_PROCESSOR 4b92d758-5a24-4851-a470-815d78aee119 -ATTRIB_HIDE
    powercfg -attributes SUB_PROCESSOR 7b224883-b3cc-4d79-819f-8374152cbe7c -ATTRIB_HIDE
    powercfg -attributes SUB_PROCESSOR 943c8cb6-6f93-4227-ad87-e9a3feec08d1 -ATTRIB_HIDE

    powercfg -attributes SUB_PROCESSOR 3b04d4fd-1cc7-4f23-ab1c-d1337819c4bb -ATTRIB_HIDE
    powercfg -attributes SUB_PROCESSOR df142941-20f3-4edf-9a4a-9c83d3d717d1 -ATTRIB_HIDE
    powercfg -attributes SUB_PROCESSOR 0cc5b647-c1df-4637-891a-dec35c318583 -ATTRIB_HIDE
    powercfg -attributes SUB_PROCESSOR 5d76a2ca-e8c0-402f-a133-2158492d58ad -ATTRIB_HIDE
Programs usually use a single core unless specifically coded to take advantage of more (which is why some people will advice not spending so much money on an i7 if you don't have special needs). Using the "Set Affinity" feature in the Task Manager you can control which one(s) it has available for use.
