I havn't been downloading from Google books recently, but when I did I used the Firefox addon Google Book Downloader (book.huhiho.com). The thing is, Google has implemented some countermeasures to stop people downloading whole books so easily. From my own experience, examples include:
- Downloading many pages very quickly within short time period flags your IP and you immediately get blocked from accessing any more pages. I guess this is what happened to you.
- You have a limit of accessing say 10-20 pages max at any given time period, until which you need to cool off for a couple of hours or a day or so (or use a different IP) to access a new set of pages again
- Even then Google limits only ~80% of a book to be publicly available, and ~20% hidden at all times (smart on their part).
So what I did was manually download individual pages with different IP's on different days. It was a slow process in retrospect but I was determined to get this book. And when it comes to reading good books not found on definitive sites such as gigapedia.org or library.nu (since closed), there's nothing better than Google books

This Is 2013©, so is there a new way to fully steal these works without much hassle? There are some comics I want to get, but are only available as "previews" in Google Books. If there's no easy way, I'll just do what Smiths did.

Used a tool with an infinity loop sequence "connect > disconnect > grab" , but after 4-5 pages , you'll have to restart your computer ... so it is useless
there was one but it will download what you could see in browser which is a preview .(pages missing )
Go on libgen.
