the critics have different criteria compared to the average viewer, which is why many praised movies may be barely watchable, let alone enjoyable - in this case they are probably wetting their pants due to all those perverted concepts involved, like: fate, hero(ism), ultimate sacrifice, the chosen one, life eternal, death worship, etc.Originally Posted by yoco

for the marketing department it doesn't matter whether the movie is complete junk or a masterpiece, their job is to wrap it up in a consumer-attractive way (shiny wrapping preferred) and feed it to the hungry masses - even so, with all the pomp, at least one doesn't have to directly pay for it or cheer-along mindlessly with other 'fans'Originally Posted by Gapo
judging from the trailer its mostly gonna be part1 with hysteria & battle-mode on steroids - since the potter film series has been in a rather steady decline (regarding the feeling/spirit, not the technical characteristics) with this director, the same can be expected to continue - 'blinded by the fireworks' might be the prognosis here
regarding the series as a whole, its biggest downside is excessive ambitiousness where some teenage magician (a talented apprentice at best) has to fight mighty opponents or complete advanced tasks while still 'going to school' (still learning the basics), as if there is no one else better suited for the task(s), with much more experience and understanding of what its all about (insight) - with such unrealistic goals/tendencies it becomes increasingly absurd to constantly re-iterate the same old david vs. goliath situations, where potter always remains the urn-pushing underdog stumbling across the potter's field
