If your looking for pretimes SCC is better than TL ,but if your looking for retention and more well seeded torrents TL much better than SCC in that case

Basically I wonder if I even need SceneHD / BTN when using SCC/TL as well.

Mmh In my opinion SCC and TL are really good trackers where you can find almost the same releases than BTN and even SceneHD

You can find well-seeded releases from 2005 in TL. That says it all. Their large userbase is their strength.

When I was new to private trackers, I thought bad of almost every site since I had already been on TL and thought 2000+ seeders on popular stuff was the norm everywhere

TL is great without discussions but I think they should have had more torrents reporting to their huge number of users.
