Lewin asks this question in a great, classic piece from Science written in 1980. In this article, Lewin profiles some findings by Professor John Lorber regarding his observations of patients with hydrocephalus. One such patient was described as follows:

There's a young student at this university... who has an IQ of 126, has gained a first-class honors degree in mathematics, and is socially completely normal. And yet the boy has virtually no brain. [...]

You wouldn't want to give up your brain for research to put it plain and simple. To have your brain removed while still alive wouldn't be a great idea. This is because your brain is born with the rest of your body. It might be somewhat different if your body had little or marginal brain matter born with the body that it is in.

I sometimes wonder sometimes if your actually a metal head chick, Snitlev.
