Taringa! owners one step away from trial for facilitating copyright violation
As the tittle says, Taringa!, the #1 file-sharing site in Latin America is about to be shaken for facilitating copyright violation.
I can't say I agree or disagree with the news, but it seems ridiculous that the owners of the site are about to be trialed for infringing copyright when they have clearly proven that they do not have access to the National Registry for Intellectual Property and therefore can not determine if the links and uploads in their site infringe any copyrights.
The bad news is, the users are to be considered responsible for copyright infringement, if the Software and music industry ever decides to pick at least an escape goat.
Sad news for Argentina and the rest of Latin America.

Shame south american politics is even more corrupt than western politics where sueing a bit-torrent tracker for copyright infringement damages is a significantly more cost effective revenue stream.
