You have to wait 15 days for the account to deactivate.
Once you press on that link,don't go or login on that site again and only then your account will be deleted.

lol - facebook don't delete accounts - they make them publicly inaccessible - why would you bin a revenue stream?

if you want to 'remove your account', the most you can do is pull down all of your info and then deactivate it.
