cgi looking good, though we saw no details and i wonder why no acting was shown, could it be less than satisfactory considering the rather no-name cast?

btw, s. hawking gets some airtime for his messages of fear to the public, as if they are not being scared enough - not to mention that hawking is making a fool of himself by giving such predictions/assumptions with no evidence displayed whatsoever, meaning he better stick to what he knows best (theoretical physics)

for other SF movies with the alien invasion theme watch the following:

    ..great:
    Mars Attacks! (1996) comedy
    Dreamcatcher (2003)
    Men in Black (1997)
    ..good:
    Independence Day (1996)
    The Faculty (1998)
    Signs (2002)
    Critters (1986)
War of the Worlds (1953, 2005)

Man, did everybody loved to bash this movie....i'm not saying it was ID4 level sci-fi and indeed the trailers pointed in that direction, but it surely wasn't the piece of crap everyone says it to be. It was a decent sci-fi movie, centered ONLY around what a few guys hidding in a condo in a middle of a alien invasion witnessed. The SFX were great that's one thing, and the ending everyone hates....i liked it. Was a good way to point out that hope never dies in a movie full of negativism and no escape scenarios.

See it, but watch it with an open mind, not with a intelectual hammer in hand.
