Based on a true story, "Kill the Irishman" chronicles Greene's heroic rise from a tough Cleveland neighborhood to become an enforcer in the local mob. Turning the tables on loan shark Shondor Birns (Christopher Walken) and allying himself with gangster John Nardi (Vincent D'Onofrio), Greene stops taking orders from the mafia and pursues his own power. 'the mob' may have been raw/uncivilized/brutal, but they weren't dumb - if a member of an organization cannot be assassinated in numerous attempts, some the following applies: he had many look-alike's to continue the illusion of invulnerability or his assassins were amateurs or the attempted assassinations were staged by hidden puppeteers (that likely had sufficient control over the whole higher levels of 'the mob')...can you imagine the game being rigged from the start? think about the invincible islamist terrorists, today in their shepherd huts, tomorrow as elite bombers...can u dig it?
