How does Nero work?

Suppose i have a folder in C drive and another folder in D, and I'm copying this to a DVD using Nero. Will nero first copy the folder from C and D to a temp location E (creating an iso) before burning it onto a DVD or will it directly copy the folders from C and D to the DVD without using a temp iso?

Yes it creates an image file somewhere in a Temp folder then burns it via Image Recorder to a file on a hard drive. Then it deletes the original image file.
