Around 12 hours ago, the What.CD dev team proudly released Gazelle RC2. What.CD has been running on RC2 for a long time now, but this is the first time in over a year where we're released a new public version of our code.
The reason for the delay is that we were busy finishing our rewrite of the site backend, and didn't want to release a fractured codebase. This sort of delay won't happen again though - RC2 is now released in nightly builds, copied straight from the What.CD codebase (with a couple of automatic edits).
The major changes in RC2 include:
* The removal of torrent_hash and inclusion of sphinx for searching
* Site-wide cache updates instead of expirations
* A completely rewritten BBCode parser
* Tight integration with an IRC network (Drone included), especially for debugging
* The collector - a parting gift from A9, who originally didn't want to release the code
* Reportsv2, which makes handling reports much more streamlined
* A couple thousand other things
