downloaded the latest version of libstdc++5_3.3.6-18_amd64.deb from:
Debian -- Package Download Selection -- libstdc++5_3.3.6-18_amd64.deb
and I'm still getting this error.
./MinGWStudio: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I also tried this.

[ame=http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1282957][SOLVED] libstdc++.so.5 installed but not found - Ubuntu Forums[/ame]
Look in the directories: /usr/lib/ or /usr/local/lib ....
For the file: libstdc++.so.5
If you have installed it then maybe it is at a different location and you can create a link in the lib directory to the so.5 file using ln command...
(man ln for help) - create a symbolic link
Sorry, was too slow... wrong architecture?
Regards, honto
