From my point of view if SBfreak has already gone through and carried out all the suggesting on the previous pages then there is definetly a hardware problem.
If after reconnecting all the cables and it still doesnt work then it their definetly something fried.
On a modern motherboard there is usually a backup bios. If you have disconnected everything and the bios is still fk then there is something wrong with the bios. And if there is no backup like on some modern motherboards where they have 2 bios then there is not much even your expert friend can to to save it.
The only thing you can do and it might save you a lot of money is to check which parts are still good and then replace those bad ones. Hopefully there shouldnt be many bad parts.
Lighting perhapes? A bad tip over maybe? Who knows but it doesnt matter. If nothing boots and the system doesnt recognise anything floppies or usb drives wont do much.
