Below is a list of step-by-step illustrated guides on configuring various BitTorrent clients to work with GreedyTorrent.


Configuring uTorrent to work with GreedyTorrent

1. Go to Options > Preferences menu in uTorrent.
2. Select Connection in the left tree view.
3. Under the section titled Proxy Server, enter the following.
4. Specify type as HTTP
5. Enter localhost as proxy
6. Enter 3456 as Port (or use the port you have configured in GreedyTorrent's preferences)
7. Click OK to save.


Configuring Azureus to work with GreedyTorrent

You need to enable advanced configuration mode in Azureus first.
Go to Tools > Configuration Wizard menu and select Advanced in the User proficiency section of the second step of the wizard. Complete the wizard by clicking Next and Finish.


1. Go to Tools > Options menu in Azureus.
2. Expand Connection in the left tree view and select Proxy Options
3. Under the first section titled Tracker Communications, enter the following.
4. Make sure you have the Enable proxying of tracker communications box checked
5. Specify localhost for Host
6. Enter 3456 as Port (or use the port you have configured in GreedyTorrent's preferences)
7. Make sure you have the I have a SOCKS proxy option unchecked
8. Leave the boxes Username and Password as blank.
9. Click OK to save.
10. Restart Azureus by selecting File > Restart Azureus

are you on Vista/7?
if so Right Click on the EXE and then "Run as Administrator"

btw i have win7 and GT is working fine ..

GT always run in idle mode. I mean from the beginning.

that IS normal,
it should be always Idle,
when the tracker announce occurs it will update..
If uTorrent is connecting to the tracker when using GT as a proxy then everything is fine.

No. Even I see errors in uTorrent, like : 'Connection closed by peer', '

Oh & btw my problem is from last week or so stats on any trackers are not updating at all [using GT/ GT + GTR].

this is another problem , its no way related to GT,
GT always remains Idle, when uTorrent wants to update the tracker GT's state will change..

for your current problem:
the proxy must be 127.0.0.1 not localhost
OR
try another tracker, maybe the tracker you're trying on is having some problems

checked the port [GT port and uT proxy port]?

I use proxy : 127.0.0.1 & port is same in both GT & uTorrent : 3456. I tried on 7-8 trackers. No update in stats :(

disable your firewall, thats what the official uTorrent forums says
if it worked then add exceptions for both GT and uT

Well they both have added as exception in my QH firewall & my windows' firewall is off. Anyways do you think changing the port i.e. 3456 to something else [of course in both GT & uT] will work? I'm gonna try.

who knows maybe.
i remember having that problem and turning off my firewall(s) was the best solution, after that i manually added GT/uT exe to the firewall because sometimes firewalls go mad

Exactly I was just thinking about turning off the firewall while downloading the torrent. I'll give a try tonight & come with result tomorrow.

Port 3456 is in uTorrent's proxy settings, not the connection ones, right?
