Al Jazeera English: 'Israel resembles a failed state'

This is the kind of stuff that just kills the spirit.

One year has passed since the savage Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip, but for the people there time might as well have stood still.

Since Palestinians in Gaza buried their loved ones - more than 1,400 people, almost 400 of them children - there has been little healing and virtually no reconstruction.
    No reconstruction.
    That's for sure.
Leave the reconstruction alone and never touch it and your sure to ensure that the people that you want under your thumb stay impoverished, can't raise an army, don't have enough money to buy all the food that they could really use, don't have clean running water, don't have all the hospital facilities that they could use, and as such are totally RELIANT upon the RULER.

Promises of billions made at a donors' conference in Egypt last March attended by luminaries of the so-called "international community" and the Middle East peace process industry are unfulfilled, and the Israeli siege, supported by the US, the European Union, Arab states, and tacitly by the Palestinian Authority (PA) in Ramallah, continues.
The Palestinian Authority...they must mean the puppet that they have their glove-in-hand in.

The Palestinian National Authority was formed in 1994,..... between the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and the government of Israel
and here's a nice surprise that doesn't surprise me anymore at all:

The PNA has received financial assistance from the European Union and the United States (approximately USD $1 bln. combined in 2005)...

Of course they get financial backing.
Who wouldn't when you support Israel??

    LInk to above quotes:

To continue with the News article:

    Policy of destruction

Amid the endless, horrifying statistics a few stand out: Of Gaza's 640 schools, 18 were completely destroyed and 280 damaged in Israeli attacks. Two-hundred-and-fifty students and 15 teachers were killed
    Yup.
Just kill some kids while your at it, I guess. Don't worry about moral or ethical repercussions.
    It's ok to kill kids.
Just a few more people that don't have to go through mental disorders or suffer depression that could be helped along the way (sarcasm).

Of 122 health facilities assessed by the World Health Organization, 48 per cent were damaged or destroyed
    Can you believe that??
Almost 50 % of what health facilities there were in the region, were destroyed.
Most Palestinians rely on going across the gates at the border region to see a doctor if your pregnant. Better facilities and supplies there for the Palestinian women.
But of course, they only get there if they don't get harassed overly much by Israeli soldiers at the gates and then that doesn't include the extensively long wait lines and wait times, you know.

Ninety per cent of households in Gaza still experience power cuts for 4 to 8 hours per day due to Israeli attacks on the power grid and degradation caused by the blockade.
    Did you read that??
    90 percent!!

Think of it locally: Imagine 90 % of your home town being without power....consistently on a daily basis that is.

Of course they damage the power grid. It's not just to keep the Palestinians in the dark. IT's to ensure that they stay under your thumb, remember??

reconstruct the power grid and make promises to do so ensures that the Palestinians are under the thumbs of the Israeli military and government.

Forty-six per cent of Gaza's once productive agricultural land is out of use due to Israeli damage to farms and Israeli-declared free fire zones
    Ah, yes...
They must be talking about those Israeli declared free fire zones that were under Palestinian land control but...after the border wall came up and the settlements that popped up just willy-nilly anywhere the Israeli government wanted and needed those settlements to be, which by-the-way were fertile agricultural lands held by the Palestinians, are now free fire zones.

Ah yes..So of course.... That must be the land that is being talked about.
Makes all the more sense now, doesn;'t it??

According to media reports, the US Army Corps of Engineers is assisting Egypt in building an underground wall on its border with Gaza to block the tunnels which act as a lifeline for the besieged territory.....
....and American weapons continue to flow to West Bank militias engaged in a US- and Israeli-sponsored civil war against Hamas and anyone else who might resist Israeli occupation and colonization.
    Did you read that right??

    Israeli occupation and colonization.
Do you know what colonization means??

......colonialism deals with this and the ruling of new territories' existing peoples.
sO when you colonize, you take over the people there that were already living there before you came.

    (1) You take that land's resources: HINT: BORDER WALL and FERTILE LANDS

    (2) You rule over those people that were there before you came.
HINT: PALESTINIANS were there BEFORE the Israeli's came. Jews were a part of Palestine in the beginning.
Which makes me think that they already had a homeland to begin with.

Just were greedy enough to want something separate of their own in which only Israeli's lived and do the ethnic cleansing thing with the Palestinians. ...and maybe do some damage on the side while they're at it, too.

    Get it, now??

    Here's the News LInk:

    Enjoy :)
