Exclamation Mininova limits its activities to Content Distribution service

Today is an important day in the history of Mininova. From now on, we are limiting Mininova.org to our Content Distribution service. By doing so, we comply with the ruling of the Court of Utrecht of last August.

Unfortunately the court ruling leaves us no other option than to take our platform offline, except for the Content Distribution service. According to the verdict we have to prevent uploads of torrents to Mininova that refer to certain titles or to similar-looking titles. We’ve been testing some filtering systems the last couple of months, but we found that it’s neither technically nor operationally possible to implement a 100% working filter system. Therefore, we decided that the only option is to limit Mininova to Content Distribution torrents from now on. We are still considering an appeal at this moment.

well, looks like its time for the public torrenters to move somewhere else (if they haven't already done so)

i guess it takes time & knowledge to prevail...

afaik in the case of left4dead razor didn't really fail since its a game inherent problem that should be fixed by the game developers with the next update (after which razor can fix that update )

At least it's not the end for mininova, they still have their content distribution section, which seems to have some well active torrents, and could be handing a help for some emergent artists.

Did you look in the Browse-Spam page? Perhaps they do.

No, no one there. But I don't really need winzip, I just used it to illustrate their site is empty.

What you mean the scene released winzip apps that are in .zip or .rar format on most sites?

Pfft what good do they do you when you need the app your downloading to extract them anyways?

Winzip is easy to get serials for... you can just download the evaluation and insert the serial into it so I never saw the point.

Why on earth would you WANT files in zip format anyway? I am unsure of the point that you're trying to prove. We , also, do not have any files that are password protected either. I'll bet that you're unhappy about that too lol. It's kinda like asking your brother to take you behind the shed and kick you in the nuts

    Try BTRACS for more trackers.
Bittorrent TRackers Automatic Checking System - A.K.A BTRACS
From that list right now, I highly recommend DigitalHive and Torrentbits, both good general trackers.
