I chucked Windows 7 on a 5 year old laptop. It runs just as fast as it did with Windows XP, and I didn't have to search for a single driver to make it work.

    Very pleased.

My laptop doesn't have XP drivers so I had to either go with Vista or Win7. I picked 7 of course and it's awesome so far.

Windows 7 it's not much better than vista. You need a good PC to work properly on it. Seven take 50% of my intel core2duo 6750 cpu when i just launch IE.

I am already posting from Windows 7. Its wonderful. I dual boot with windows xp. If anything goes wrong i can fix using xp and there has not been any need for that so far.

I agree with you on the video processing much better codec support in Windows media player!

you don't even need to install codecs to watch mkv's in WMP..I'm still on Vista but my sisters laptop came with Windows 7 so thats how I know

speed improvements can have countless reasons. why do you think it's because of win7?

wmp is hardly a factor for rating a whole os. even more so when there're much better media players out there.

I'm on it right now, have been for a few months. If you had performance issues on Vista, chances are you will on 7 aswell. It's more or less Windows Vista SP3.

Windows 7 is faster than Vista for gaming. BUT only with some games that are specially made for Win 7 for instance Dragon Age Origins was made with Win 7 and the new direct X in mind but it probably wont matter too much with WoW except if Vista was doing too much in the background.
