I think this has happened before when Pinochet went on trial on Chile, yes??
I believe so.
Here's the latest news from AJE.
and he's an older fellow too. In his eighties.Argentina's last military ruler has gone on trial accused of involvement in the kidnapping, torture and murder of 56 people at a military base.
I would wonder how long he'll live before he passes away after having, potentially, spent time in jail??
I think that taxpayers and citizens alike might feel some kind of redemption knowing that an older criminal, spent his last and dying days in jail for crimes he committed.
Doesn't that which goes around, come's around??
Heres' some idea of what some people are feeling:
lots of people suffered......"When I see them (the accused on trial, that is) there I feel repulsed but I also feel a great deal of achievement because they're being put on trial,"
Just as much as the Right doesn't like the Left, so also the Left equally doesn't like the Right.According to a government report, more than 11,000 people died or disappeared during a crackdown on leftists and other opponents of the military government that ruled the country from 1976 to 1983.
And people are made as pawns in a game of political chess, so to speak.
It's a shame that ordinary people have to experience consequences b/c of some government's political agenda.
But I think that in those days, in the '70's and '80's that is, some countries were fostering geo- political allies around the world.
That's why it was called the Cold-War .
