utorrent! Aber welche Version?

hi!

ich benutzte schon seit einer halben ewigkeit utorrent 1.6.1
läuft eigetnlich ganz stabil!

jetzt wollt ich fragen soll man zu einer höheren verison upgraden?
ich hab gelesen das ab der version 1.6.1 ein anderes entwickler team utorrent übernommen hat und sachen eingebaut hat die für uns filesharer nicht so erfreulich sind!

kann das wer bestätigen? außderdem was für vorteile würde ein upgraden bringen?

aja und meine letzte frage wird utorrent irgendwann mal RC4 verschlüsselung unterstüzen?

Ist ziemlich egal, welche Version du nutzt. Persönlich nutze ich die 1.8.1. Und dieses "µ sendet irgendwas an irgendwen" ist ein klassischer Hoax

Ah, yes, the famous call-homes. If you want to upgrade but are concerned about them, use the Original mod from my 1.8.2 LP - they're removed.

According this thread, uTorrent automatically RC4-encrypts the whole streams if you set encryption to forced and untick "allow incoming legacy connections".

problem ist halt, dass utorrent 1.8.x nicht überall akzepiert wird. die 1.6.1 dafür fast überall

naja man müsste als trackerteam dafür sorgen, dass alle clients die webui fähig sind mal auf ihren Trackern übernommen werden als Anregung, falls ein Trackeradmin das mitlesen sollte.

Meine mal gelesen zu haben, dass das mit DHT zusammenhängt. Da einem DHT auf ALTs sowieso nicht bringt, merkt man auch keinen Geschwindigkeitsunterschied. Was aber allgemein als "call home" bezeichnet wird, ist einfach nur Stuss.

Aber dem mit Abstand beste HOAX seit längerem.

Maybe it's a hoax as you say, but since there's no functionality loss when removing those, I just want to be in the safe side.

@rufus, hast du einsicht in den code, oder kennst einen der entwickler?

nein? wie kannst du dann so sicher behaupten es währe kein call home?


es mag sein das es unsinn ist...vielleicht ist es aber auch wahr. diese frage kann allerdings nur eine handvoll leute beantworten. irgendwelche seiten aus dem web gehören da aber sicherlich nicht dazu.


btw. zu deiner dht aussage - wozu braucht dht eine hard codierte ip?
