That's the IANA private port range, which means there won't be any drama with port-based traffic shaping, or firewall warnings about uTorrent attempting to send e-mail, etc.

i signup iptorrents recently. i want to ask few questions if you may.

1. Can i use vem on iptorrents or any other client which doesn't in ipt suported clients list.
2. Is still mandatory use BEncode Editor for multiple announces or vem userenity and mratio4.5 can handle multiple announces?

Sure - that's what the perfect spoof exists for!

Vuze and Serenity will work fine. For mRatio you will have to use the editor to leave but one address, at least for now.

What's the deal with multiple announces? What do you mean by "multiple announces"? Do I need to do something to cheat here that isn't needed for other trackers?

Edit: Ok, I searched the thread and found something from long time ago. I grabbed a couple of torrents from IPT and they got 2 announce urls, but when I added them to mR everything went fine. Shouldn't mR give me some kind of error? From what I read I understand that the thing is that mR couldn't run those torrents with multiple announces, so why my mR can?

Yeah, I got that. But the thing is, the torrents I tried worked just fine in mR, although it only shows the .com announce and I didn't try to upload anything, just sat there seeding at 0kbps.

It seems mRatio will pick the first announce URL from a multi-announce torrent now.

You dont need to edit anything then I guess. I think it's been asked before but: isn't it suspicious if you announce only from 1 url instead of 2 or 3 as the real client would do?
