Azureus didn't have a built-in IPFilter at the time this tutorial was written.

    # -Xms16m
    # -Dsomevar="%SOMEVAR%"
    # -Dswing.aatext=true

Then save it. This has the same effect as the command-line tweak when using the single EXE.
i read on the wiki to use a different file,

    VM Options file (windows only)

-J options specified on the command line won't be preserved over an Azureus restart. To ensure they are place them into a file called Azureus.exe.vmoptions in the same directory as the Azureus.exe. In this case simply place each command on a separate line in the file, without the -J. For example

    Azureus.exe.vmoptions

    -Dazureus.lazy.bitfield=1
    -Xmx192m
    Commandline options - AzureusWiki

so is it Azureus.l4j.ini or Azureus.exe.vmoptions? i am using the Single exe of 4.2.0.3_B19 on winxp sp3.

the single exe is adjusted by ghostfucker, you have to use the Azureus.l4j.ini instead of making a shortcut from the exe and write it there. its with the Azureus.l4j.ini more confortable and you can even add the command for the cutom path config folder

    .l4j.ini.

Remember I made a mistake on the post you quoted. The last line should be:
    Code:
    -Xmx64m
    and not:
    Code:
    -J-Xmx64m

i never knew i could change the config folder. when i use,

    -Dazureus.config.path=%APPDATA%\Azureus4

it doesn't even load. but if i use the full path it works.

    -Dazureus.config.path="C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Azureus4"

how do i get it so that i can use the %APPDATA% instead of the full path.?

    -Dazureus.config.path=%APPDATA%Azureus4
Try enclosing the path between quotes too.

copy the config folder in the folder where the azureus.exe is and put in the ini this line

    -Dazureus.config.path=".\Azureus"

it should load the config folder directly from it and you can make even 2 or 3 different azureus version with different settings thats how im using it since im sometimes too lazy to change the settings over the GUI

this works best for me as i see the single exe is like a portable version, but you need java installed. now my config folder is in the same folder as the exe.

    thanks!!

Pretty much all of them. The necessary ones are greyed out, or reenable themselves after restarting Vuze.

    Anon,

I dont find any file whit the exact description "Azureus.l4j.ini" in Vuze.exe folder nor in the sub-folders nor hidden? However, i have found
the following files i4jparams.ini and i4jruntime.ini in the .install4j folder !?

I guess this is yet another "better" method to use conserve memory !?

Do i need to put in all the above parameters ?

which method do you use anyway, and does it both work for you ?

In my case the shortcut method has proven not to work in the long run !

    cheers,
    kab,

The Azureus.l4j.ini thing is only for when you use the single EXE version. If you're using the JAR, you have to do the command-line tweak described in the first post. But if it doesn't work... well, you could try using the single EXE.

Are you refering to the portable version of Azureus !

Wot do you actually mean by "using the single.exe"

There's a "single EXE" version in the Vuze Beta thread - look in the attachments...
