Gamers gouged - Articles - GamesAn investigation into video game prices has found that Australians can buy software for less than half price by importing.
The Xbox 360 blockbuster BioShock for example, is $109.95 at EBGames yet it's just $48.57 including postage from the Hong Kong online retailer Play-Asia.com.
Avid Reservoir gamer James Dominguez, 34, compiled the research after reading many articles about the high price of Australian software compared to overseas outlets.
He scoured the shelves at Australian retailers including JBHi-Fi, EBGames and Harvey Norman, comparing their prices on popular formats to local and overseas online outlets such as GamesWarehouse, Chaos, Play-Asia and SuperUFO.
