    How to add 'Run' to Vista's Start Menu

    1. Right-click the desktop
    2. Select "Properties"
    3. Select "Start Menu" tab
    4. Select "Classic"
    5. Select "Customize"
    6. Check the "Run" box and hit "OK"
    7. Change "Classic Start Menu" back to "Start Menu" Hit "Apply" and "OK"

    Yes, knew it before but anyway thanks for this.

    But you have to right-click on the bar at the bottom and not on the desktop.

    i'd like to contribute with another tip... probably the only thing it has to do with this is that it affects the "run..." dialog

    1. open regedit (start -> run -> type REGEDIT and press ENTER)
    2. go to key


    (if the "explorer" key doesn't exist create it)

    3. right click somewhere blank, and choose new -> DWORD value
    4. name the new value MemCheckBoxInRunDlg, double click it and set its value to 1
    5. close regedit, and log off and then log on OR you can open task manager and kill process explorer.exe, it should come back automatically

    now you have a neat "Run in Separate Memory Space" to do that when opening dos applications (should be ungreyed when you choose one either typing its path or through "browse...")
