OS on daily driver

What operating system do you use as your daily driver, and why?

Mac OS at home because the most performant computer I have is an M1; I had to give my gaming pc to my brother.
Linux at work because they got me a Windows machine but WSL2 was a shitty resource hog. In both cases I'd probably be fine with Windows 11 LTSC if I had a more powerful machine than the M1 or I didn't have problems with software I need to run at work.

I previously tried using Linux as my OS but had to switch back to Windows 11 because I ran into many quality-of-life issues.

Windows 7, the last great version before Microsoft did away with things like consistent UI design and software testing to turn the OS into a spyware machine (but they gave us DirectX 12 and NetAdapterCx, yay).

Linux is a clone of Unix, where graphical interfaces were an afterthought and seen with distrust by experts; that design decision haunts it to this day. Distro and library hell don't help either, but you have to take the bad with the good. I think Mac OS is what Linux would be like if it didn't have those problems.

The graphical interface was indeed one of the issues.

I am running an ultra-wide monitor at work & at home.
I missed the window snap feature of windows in the first few days.

That one's very good on large screens, just make sure to set DragFromMaximize to 0 to spare yourself frustration.

In past i was hard core fan of xp, i used it many years. It was best OS in its time.

Now i am using 7 from 14-15 years. It my favorite OS.
I will use it until i am unable to use youtube in 7. I am still using Chrome.
Also Chromium open source Supermium has latest version than official Chrome.
But i mostly use Chrome, instead Chromium.

I tried my best to migrate to Windows 10 or 11.
But i think Windows 8, 8.1, 10, 11 all are worst OS, very buggy, heavy and forceful updates are headache.

I also tried my best to migrate to Linux on suggestions of youtuber. Linux is best than 10, 11, bla bla bla
But driver support is big issue, especially graphics/video.
Too much brightness, too much fan noise, and even i tried to down brightness, video quality was not like Windows, it seemed there are no drivers and my laptop heat was 80 C.
Terminal use is another headache.

In the end i am still using 7.

You're a pioneer I wasn't confident enough to switch until early 2011, partly because it worked less well with my hardware than Microsoft had promised (and even then, I'd eventually downgrade my desktop to Server 2003). Did try the beta as soon as it was out, though.
