    Android vs IOS

Why do people like to use IOS rather than Android phones?
for me, all my life used only android I liked how I can customize everything from the os to the apps and mod...etc but nowadays my Customizing spark vanished and I'm thinking of trying to buy iPhone what do u think should I or not? what I'm going to get and what to lose.

Considering only a single company manufactures and sells iOS devices, I daresay the answer is along the lines of: Apple's hardware is super sexy, the software is comfy enough, and they can afford the whole package.

i think more people are using android than ios, especially asian countries,

only few people have ios if you compare them in your friends, families.

if you have iphone, you tell your friends, relatives i have bla bla bla model of iphone and it cost bla bla bla.

in my country majority have samsung, oppo, huawei mobiles, others have local or other chinese brands, all these have android. i only heard only 1 uncle of my wife had iphone which he gave his wife (before marriage when she was fiance).

most of people can not afford iphone, especially chinese, indian and other asian countries.

The kernel, core system components and AOSP apps are open source, but Google and OEM apps, hardware-specific modules/firmware and bootloaders are proprietary, with few exceptions. It's highly difficult to run an Android system that's 100% free software when so many important parts aren't; the Replicant project is an attempt, but you'll find its table of supported devices pretty depressing.

    Anyone remembers Symbian and J2ME?

Yeah, the good old days of .sis files.

Actually I still have a lot of .sis apps on my HDD.

I had several packs of SIS and JAR files, some from SyncTheBits (a long-defunct tracker for these things), until I went on a deletion spree early this year. Still have JADMaker and JAM Adapter, a patcher for incompatible Java apps which had perhaps a 10% chance of making them run. Ah, the suffering of not being able to play certain games because they expected Nokia and I had a Motorola... but Metal Gear Acid worked.

There was even a Google Earth client, but it crashed a lot, because these phones were so underpowered. Opera Mini 2.0 was awesome, though

Had some good times with JAR apps and games also, I remember one game were you control red ball but I can't recall its name, used to play it on my Sony Ericsson W850, used to use Opera mini too... memories

Hope I can do such a deletion spree one day, a lot of outdated and unimportant data need to go.
Or even the ability to arrange the important data I have, 16TB of data all over the place!

You can't say "game" and "Sony Ericsson" without mentioning V-Rally.

There was a Russian mod of Opera Mini with advanced settings, offline browsing, FTP client, file manager and much more. JBED can supposedly run all of these under Android, but I've never tried it because playing games on a tiny screen isn't appealing to me anymore, and everything else is available as a native app

I understand that completely. I made a large dent, but there's still so much to go and it's poorly organized at best. You can try to reduce how much data you add over time, but it does nothing for the huge pile that's already there. Hopefully we'll get it sorted within our lifetimes...

Totally forgot about V-Rally, a lot of nostalgia in here...

Sadly can't control the added data, there are always a lot to download nearly everyday.
I was thinking to take it one category at a time, starting with lager files like TV shows, movies and Games, group the related and delete the unnecessary... yeah someday, hate to leave the task to the future heirs of my HDD.

I started simply adding the names of whatever I'm interested on to a text file around three years ago. It was easier and faster than downloading it and then never dealing with it

Just checked on one game torrent from before this policy... size 5.77 GB, ratio 286.025, completed on 15/12/2018 15:23:14, seeding time 2y 49w, haven't even installed it yet. Ugh.
