    code wise it's quite bad. it looks like a first semester cs student's work who just finished his first textbook. no actual clue about what the code does. and the source code comments underline that. some would actually make for a nice joke if ... they were not serious.
    the performance is good enough because today even the cheapest server has a lot of juice. but it could be significantly better if somebody who actually knows what they're doing does a proper rewrite. from a performance point of view even the compilation instructions are bad and the used 3rd party libs are not a good choice either.
