Movies from 2020 worth watching - A retrospective

an overview (incl. short comments) of movies from 2020 imo worth watching (may include earlier movies, whose scene bdrips/dvdrips/blurays got released in 2020) - afaik this is 'as good as it gets' this year

    -

    comedy:

Borat Subsequent Moviefilm (2020) not particularly funny but nothing better to be seen in this category

    drama:

Dark Waters (2019) slow drama about fighting another irresponsible giant chemical company poisoning people and the environment with Teflon products
The Two Popes (2019) get a glimpse inside the Catholic Church and their activities, especially the philosophical topics discussed by the two popes of somewhat opposing viewpoints

    romance:
    -

    SF:
    -

    thriller:

Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn (2020) just to see the female version of joker (aka joker's girlfriend)
Parasite (2019) sick and twisted, just the way hollywood likes 'em

    western:
    -

    retro/remastered/extended releases:

Beverly Hills Cop (1984) well known cop-lite comedy, whole trilogy available, retro remastered BluRay release
Bill and Teds Excellent Adventure (1989) excellent and guaranteed IQ lowering adventures, retro remastered BluRay release
Casablanca (1942) well known oldie, retro remastered BluRay release
Flash Gordon (1980) cheesy 'so bad its good' space adventure, retro remastered BluRay release
Glengarry Glen Ross (1992) solid salesmanship drama, retro remastered BluRay release
Narrow Margin (1990) lesser Gene Hackman thriller, retro BluRay release
Pitch Black (2000) Riddick in action, theatrical and DC versions available, retro remastered BluRay release
Roman Holiday (1953) light princess-turns-commoner oldie, retro BluRay release
Star Wars Episode I...VI (1977...2005) needs no introduction, retro remastered BluRay release
The Man in the Iron Mask (1977) a taste of the era of musketeers, retro BluRay release
The Pledge (2001) lesser Nicholson thriller, retro BluRay release
The Stalking Moon (1968) solid low-key western, retro BluRay release
Top Gun (1986) flying macho overdose, retro remastered BluRay release
Total Recall (1990) classic Arnie SF action, retro uncut remastered BluRay release
Wrongfully Accused (1998) typical Leslie Nielsen comedy rampage, retro BluRay release

Only movies on your list I watched are Tenet and Dark Waters. Tenet was pretty mediocre, I really liked Dark Waters.

Bloodshot wasn't that bad, bit silly, but great if you like mindless non stop action movies
Boss Level - the same, tries too hard to be cool and smart, but it fails.

Leave your brain at the door and enjoy the ride kind of movies.

Most categories in the first post are completely empty Granted, this year has been slow for the entertainment industry.
