Is there any good ebook/mobi/epub reader? I'm interested in a software that is capable of displaying them in a manner similar to pdf (with page breaks, etc.) . I'm using right now the ebook reader from calibre.

I've been using AOMEI Backupper lately.
I used it first for disk/partition cloning. their bootdisk (ISO) works under windows PE or Linux.
I like it a lot also because I can "broadcast" the ISO over the network , which is brilliant. No more USB disk to find.
I think all recent computers can boot from their network card now.
they have a free version if you use a "home" version of windows.

I've also started to use it as a backup tool and have already restored my boot drive 3 times with success.

My favorites ones are:
tabs, dual pane, in-view filters, mini scrap , queue management for file operations,

It's the only software I always install (or use the portable version) on any windows system. and it doesn't look bad like others.

Note: The free version will be enough for many users.

for mac os, go for Path Finder.

anon gave me a list in pm a few weeks ago but i deleted it by mistake and now i don't remember the names

Easy mode: Driver Sweeper, Nasty File Remover

Hardcore mode: RunAsTI, RegScanner, anything that can search and filter files by all their timestamps (I use Total Commander)

Unless you have a dedicated sound card, just leave the stock drivers that come with Windows. They have proven reliability.

If none of the suggest programs by anon work for you, then probanbly your windows audio drivers have been corrupted/or replaced. If that is the case, you would need to replace them using the original drivers from a windows dvd image. Let me know how it goes.

When i went to the driver sweeper website it is saying that dsweeper was replaced by display driver uninstaller. Can i use that?

It looks like Display Driver Uninstaller can only remove display drivers (as may be expected), so I wouldn't recommend it here. I have a copy of the Driver Sweeper installer if you can't find it.

I'm going to get myself a shipment of old cd-writers from the years 1995-2005. I'd like to know which version of NERO was the best and had support for old writers?
Nowadays ImgBurn is the best but i'd also like to have nero for this that will surely work on Win 95.

As a kid, a pretty stuipid one at that, I grew up with nero 6.x. Didn't knew to do anything except click on Data Disk and burn at low speed but I was happy. That's all I knew and the only version I ever used. I have no knowledge of later or previous versions. But I think version 5.5 was the best. What is your input?

Money well spent. Make sure to also get as many analog audio cables as possible, and a spare power supply to use the drives with buttons and a headphone jack as makeshift Discmans

I used Easy CD Creator back when Adaptec made it. It was 'kay. Nero came later but I never liked it much. Many data CDs were made with the built-in burning capabilities on Windows XP, that was good enough.

That was horrible! At least in nero you could add bootable code on the fly without actually making an ISO. Plus, were talking about windows 95 here.

Well, at the time bootable CDs ran on magic as far as I knew. Routers too.

I had the oppurtinity of using sublime text this week and I got to say it's way better than notepad++. Actually notepad++ is shit compared to this. Better tab handling, multiple windows, window splitters, better IDE functions, can handle large files better than npp, plugin selection is better developed than npp. This like the foobar2000 of text editors.
