Surprising to see Dominic on a traitor role. Standing up for family and friends is the core theme of this movie series (besides cool cars and explosions), and he was a key player on that regard. I hope this is all a misunderstanding

At least they were respectful enough not to cast a CGI version of Brian, after Furious 7 there were rumors they would do it.

at least they have changed something in the story, unless the trailer is lying ,dominic is forced to do all the shit and at the end will be hugs ,rainbows and teddybears..hope this series has to end soon ...unless i have to see dominic at 80 years becoming old&furios...for me...after that scene with domnic flying over the bridge (can't recall wich part of F&F was that) F&F was over

Well, I liked Furious 7. It had everything you can expect from these movies.

Thank goodness that multi-million-dollar car which had been bought as decoration (and not meant to be driven at all) had gas in the tank, making this scene possible.

Some people theorize Hollywood is deathly afraid of attempting innovation and ending up with flops, but I think it's less fear and more simply sticking to what is known to work (how many Transformers movies have we had?).

Regardless of which theory is right, one thing is true: as long as people keep watching sequels, they'll keep on making them.

hope in the last one Jason Statham escape from jail and has his revenge

for me is 2 sides of movies in hollywood
the teen movies special effects bs story that sell tickets at the cinema over the buget (aka makes profit) movies like transformers, superheroes,F&F and all of this types..wich is more easy and enjoyable when u go with friends at the cinema ...

and the oscar winning movies for the real people who enjoyscinematography (even if in the last years ,they started to degrade also)

if this sequels are so good ..why they never are oscar nominees ...they are awarded only on mtv type of channels

both are watchable ...but on the first example....they have story and action logical only for a 10 year old kid ...for ex F&F actions if they happend in the real life....all of them where dead ..after first movie..jumping over buliding with cars..no damage...and so on

i'd say: as long as people keep paying to see sequels

i saw many of those, most of the nominees are simply not that interesting - the oscars reflect popularity among movie critics or internally sponsored movies, not that of the viewers

To be fair, 10 year olds or not, movies are a form of escapism and we want a great story that ends well.

If the train had struck Dominic and Brian killing them both, for example, that would have been a more realistic but also shitty ending.

Well, well, you know what I meant

As for the Oscars, the voting process may be slightly biased. And ultimately, while there can be some consensus, the things that make a movie "good" are subjective.

yes...but at least keep them not exagerated ..like the scene from avengers with them lined up charging to fight :)) or this one ( i found the vide)

    looks like is superman :))

have to agree ,but this phenomenon is that movies in general ,started to degrade ...anybody else don't have a felling that right now u find max 5 movies per years that are actually good ...and the period 1986-2000 was abunded in those....or is because we have grown up now

generally yes, it reflects our desire to complete our own life in the materialistic world in a positive/successful way - another quote aiming in that direction: 'all is well that ends well'

true, regarding individual, subjective opinions on what (movie) is good
objectively, every single movie ever made is good, regarding the purpose it serves (the reason why it exists in the first place)

note: the movie-makers do not define this purpose, they merely appear in (or more correctly: witness) the process of movie-making

on one hand, its a generational thing, every generation likes movies of their own era the most, whereas movies outside of that era are usually not that good
on the other, movie genres have their highs (golden era) and lows - the same applies to directors, actors,...

I like this series because although they try to get more absurd on each iteration, they still end up delivering what their spectators are looking for, which is tuned cars, chases, crashes, lots of action, lots of big talking, challenges, etc.

As for the oscars I stopped believing/giving a damn after they gave best film and director for that Birdman piece of shit, now that's something absurd.

Another factor: a good movie is remembered, shows up in "top X of all time" lists, and becomes a must-watch or a classic. A bad movie ends up being forgotten after a short while. So when you "look back", you get a biased outlook. Happens with music also.
