Yep Heath Ledger pretty much took Joker into a class of his own and frankly nothing even comes close

ledger was pretty good (at insane, and only that), but nicholson nailed it (ranging from pre-joker jack to a mixture of comedy, weirdness & insanity as the joker, showcasing his versatility)

the trailer doesn't show much except random/derivative action and some semi-successful attempts at comedy, as well as not particularly convincing joker scenes

some of the featured actors here are (way) past their prime, like affleck & smith, some are being pushed in front due to ulterior motives (eastwood's son) - so far only the female lead (from what is shown in the trailer) & leto (from his previous transformative roles) seem like candidates with higher potential in the movie

as for the director/writer, his movies worth watching ended back in 2001, namely:

Training Day (2001)
The Fast and the Furious (2001)
U-571 (2000)

So watched it today.. It not as bad as critics say but it ain't a perfection either. And jared leto as joker sucked.. Surprisingly magot robbie was actually did a good job.

I agree, Heath Leadger as the Joker is my favorite character of all times. It had a big impact on me when I first saw it.
